Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, jumped ahead of Mukesh Ambani from position 8 to position 2 on the Forbes Billionaires list. The two richest businessmen in India now stand 6 spots apart.
With a net worth of $151 billion, Adani ranks second in the world in terms of wealth. With an $88.9 billion net worth, Ambani is ranked eighth.
Adani’s recent accomplishments include participating in the 5G spectrum auction, buying a 74% share in Mumbai International Airport, and purchasing the India operations of the cement company Holcim. Additionally, the Adani Group has claimed a 29.2% interest in NDTV.
Ambani made several significant business decisions, including investing Rs. 2 lakh crore in 5G services for all of India, shifting RIL into the green energy sector, selling 32.97% of Jio Platforms to Google, Facebook (now Meta), and other venture capitalists, launching Jio, and acquiring a 25% stake in content production company Balaji Telefilms.
