Adani’s Career
While still a teenager, Adani moved to Mumbai in 1978 to work as a diamond sorter for Mahendra Brothers.
In 1981, his older brother Mahasukhbhai Adani bought a plastics factory in Ahmedabad and asked him to run the business. This company ultimately served as Adani’s gateway into international trade through the importation of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
